Fun day with the bestie!

Today my best friend Sian came over to hang out. When she arrived we watched some videos and played on my iPod then we got changed into our togs to get ready for the beach. After we had slopped on some sunblock we headed to Tay street beach at the Mount. As soon as we go there Sian, Claire (my little sister) and I went straight for the waves. At first it was really cold but as time went by our bodies started to get more used to the temperature. We dived, played jumped, splashed and laughed. After that we decided to try and dig a humongous pool out of sand. We dug and dug but the water kept reaching us. Our walls fell but we kept persevering. Eventually we decided to just hit the waves again.

Once our stay at the beach came to an end we went to McDonalds and got an ice-cream with a flake. After our ice-cream we got a pack of chips to share.

When we got back to my Nan's house we had a nice warm shower to wash the sand away and then we went and played some games with my brothers rugby ball.

Overall I had a great day and i'm going to miss Sian tonight. She's such a great friend and fun to have a laugh with.

Heres some pics from our awesome day,

By the way, all our sunblock was worth it! None of us got sunburnt! Thanks Sian!!

Buddy Day!

In Room 29, we are raising awareness of child abuse. So what we did was everyone in my class got into groups of 3 or 4 and each group became the creators of a buddy. Each group had to design a buddy, give it a name, give it a story and basically treat like a real kiwi kid. I'm in a group with my friend, Sian. We have created a buddy called April Maui. April is from Hawaii and loves to hula. After we have created our buddy's we put our design on a small 3D person shaped template about 1 metre tall. After that we have to update in our buddy's diary what they did and how they feel. After all that our buddies get taken away and get given to carers. The carers then have to take the buddies where ever they go to coffee club to a work meeting, where ever. To raise the awareness these buddy will be popping up all around New Zealand and then people will start to ask question and the awareness will be getting raised. Please support buddy day as it goes to such a great cause. Together we can make a change. Just like Michael Jackson said in Man in the Mirror. GO BUDDY DAY!!

TRICK OR TREAT!

On Thursday night Sian and I went trick or treating around Ohauiti. I dressed up as a vampire and Sian went as a geeky angel, unfortunately Sian's angel wings broke so she ended up just being a geek. While we were trick or treating we saw our friend Christine on the way. Her brother and sister were with her too. We ended up trick or treating together but then after about half an hour we dropped them back at their house. Sian and I had alot of candy by then and we munched as we walked along. It started to get dark pretty quick so Sian and I walked to Sian's Aunty's place. We got there and called Sian's Dad to come and pick us up. While we were waiting we watched the X-factor. About 10 minutes of the X-factor Sian's Dad arrived and we drove home. I stayed the night and came to school with her ready for the 12 hour relay, trick or treating is heaps of fun and squeezing in some X-factor was even better. Happy Halloween!
